BABYCAT BREWERY

Twopoint Studio partnered with the owners of BabyCat Brewing Co. to design their first brick-and-mortar location, transforming a former auto repair shop within a central shopping center campus in Kensington, MD. Plans for the site also anticipate a future outdoor, elevated deck to expand seating.

The brewery operates a 10-bbl brewing system with a dedicated tank farm, designed to accommodate future expansion into an adjacent tenant space once it becomes available. The Tasting Room occupies half of the interior, offering tables and chairs to support flexible seating. The space was intentionally sized for fewer than 100 occupants, allowing the project to avoid the need for fire sprinklers in the existing structure.

A direct-draw system connects the central cold box to a custom live-edge bartop, which also provides bar seating. Renovations included entirely new mechanical systems, as none of the original infrastructure was salvageable. The existing concrete floor was cleaned and polished, preserving the raw character of the space.
