Scatter-dd: Designing Deliberately - Accessible Scattered Site Public Housing in Baltimore City

Join us for a discussion of the integration of accessible public housing throughout Baltimore City. Starting with the history of public housing, the presentation then covers the Consent Decree, scattered site significance, prototyping designs, enforcement and technical realities, and thinking about the future of public housing. Additionally, we address the realities of implementing and enforcing ADA compliant spaces and an investigation of how these methods should be applied to other sectors moving forward.

FILM SEVEN

In recognition of the Fair Housing Act's 50th Anniversary, we will be showing two short films with housing discrimination as their central theme.

One from 1957 and one from 2013.

"All the Way Home" -AND- "Matter of Place"

Seen in juxtaposition, these films recount our country’s often overlooked history of residential segregation and pervasive injustices that, despite the existence of fair housing laws, continue to inflict harm on entire communities and individuals throughout America.

Start your summer with a film and join us for happy hour!

FILM SIX

Heroin-e.jpg

We're back with Netflix's Oscar nominated documentary short;

"Heroin(e)"

Huntington, WV has become the epicenter of America’s modern opioid epidemic, with an overdose rate 10 times the national average.  This documentary highlights three women working to change the town’s narrative and break the devastating cycle of drug abuse one person at a time.

Funding for this documentary was secured through the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation’s Glassbreaker Films initiative at the Center for Investigative Reporting, which specifically sought nonfiction shorts about women making a difference.

Join us for happy hour and a short film!
