Celebrating Kathleen’s Elevation to FAIA

We are thrilled to congratulate our very own Kathleen Lechleiter, FAIA, on her elevation to the American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows! This prestigious honor is reserved for architects who have made a profound national contribution to the profession, with only 3% of AIA members ever achieving Fellowship.

Over her 30+ year career, Kathleen has championed equitable and healthy communities, advancing design that empowers residents and uplifts neighborhoods. Her work has focused on public engagement, housing security, and access to opportunity, ensuring that architecture serves as a tool for social impact. From providing stable housing for marginalized groups to mentoring future generations of architects, Kathleen’s influence extends far beyond the projects she leads.

She joins a distinguished class of 96 architects nationwide in 2025. Beloved by colleagues, students, and the communities she serves, Kathleen embodies the values of our profession, and we couldn’t be prouder of this incredible accomplishment.
