Team - David Lopez

DAVID LOPEZ, AIA, LEED AP

David has 18+ years of experience as a builder, designer, fabricator and teacher in Hawaii, Seattle, WA and Baltimore, MD. Born and raised in Baltimore, he has an intense interest in detailing and construction means and methods so that projects meet their aesthetic intentions. As such, he spent 5 years working for Bellan Construction in Seattle where he managed several high-end single-family residential projects, worked on development/design/build projects, and helped set up and manage the company's cabinetry shop. Returning to Baltimore in 2005, he has worked at Hord Coplan Macht as a project architect for the past 10 years, leaving the firm to start LED-BETTER STUDIO in 2015. During that time, he has also taught architecture and design for 7 years at both Morgan State University and the Maryland Institute, College of Art. His work experience while at HCM has been a mixture of Healthcare, Education and Housing studio projects, involved in all phases from schematic design through construction administration.
